I am a visual artist located on the unceded Coast Salish Territory of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ nations (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada).  Primarily self-taught, I briefly studied visual art at the University of Victoria before deciding to pursue my own practice.  I consider myself a mixed-media artist, focusing primarily on abstract painting, digital media and video. My work can be described as highly stylized and process-oriented. I am influenced by neo-expressionism and enjoy exploring the "not so literal" experience, instead using form and colour to express and process various internal states. Recurring visual themes include the use of complex layering contrasted with simple lines and shapes. These tools aim to represent an internal struggle - an attempt to depict some semblance of balance and harmony while resting within an unsettled and distracted landscape.
